12 Oct Celebrating Oktoberfest at Martin’s Restaurant
Didn’t get a chance to fly over to Germany to celebrate Oktoberfest this year? Well you’re in luck because Oktoberfest is coming to Martin’s Restaurant in Myrtle Beach. And instead of a two week long festival, we’ll be celebrating Oktoberfest the entire month of October.
Germans are known for their love of beer and sausage. So at Martin’s, we’ve created a delicious plate of German specialities to celebrate this German festival. For the month of October, we’re featuring The Farmer’s Plate which includes Knackwurst, Bratwurst, and Applewood Smoked Pork Chop. The sides we’re pairing with these flavorful meats are Pan Fried Potatoes and Red Cabbage. And since this festival is a celebration centered around plenty of beer drinking – the Farmer’s Plate wouldn’t be complete without a pint of seasonal beer. You’ll have a selection of Oktoberfest beers to select from to wash down your meal.
Now that this festive plate has put you in the Oktoberfest mood, head over to the Market Common for their Oktoberfest festival and continue the celebration. The festival takes place in Grand Park on Friday, October 12th from 4pm to 9pm and on Saturday, October 13th from 11am to 7pm. This annual event is one of the largest in Myrtle Beach and there will be over 50 vendors in attendance, selling everything from handmade crafts to treats. There will be plenty of live music, including the authentic Channelheimer Oompah German Band. And what’s Oktoberfest without beer? You can expect to find pints being filled with Sam Adams Oktoberfest, Weihenstephaner Oktoberfest, New South Oktoberfest, Spaten Oktoberfest and Warsteiner Oktoberfest. If you’re searching for a seasonal beer to sip, you can try the Rogue Pumpkin or Southern Tier Pumking. This event is fun for the whole family and there will be plenty of activities for the kids, inflatables, pony rides, and more!
No need to worry if you’re not a fan of German cuisine, we’re still have our full menu available to order from. Besides celebrating Oktoberfest, we’re also celebrating our 25th Anniversary this year. So if you skip The Farmer’s Plate – take a look at our pre-fixe three course dinner menu which is only $25 per person. For an appetizer you’ll be served the Soup Du Jour of the day along with your choice of a Garden Fresh Salad or Caesar Salad. The Entree selection includes a 6 oz Filet Mignon, Shrimp Scampi, Chicken Parmigiana, Fresh Atlantic Salmon, and of course, our infamous Wienerschnitzel. For dessert the options are Creme Brulee, Apple Pie Ala Mode, or an Ice Cream Sundae.
